The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the Special Scholarship Scheme for the students of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (SSSJKL) under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana. Aimed at providing financial assistance for the academic year 2024-25, the scheme is dedicated to students who have cleared their 10+2 from JKBOSE or CBSE Schools located in UTs of J&K or Ladakh in sessions 2022-23 and 2023-24.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have:
- Passed 10+2 from JKBOSE or CBSE schools located in UTs of J&K or Ladakh in the sessions 2022-23, enrolled in 2022 and passed in 2023, or
- Enrolled in the session 2023-24 and expected to pass in 2024.
Courses and Financial Assistance
The scheme encompasses various courses including:
- General Degree
- Professional courses such as Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Architecture, and BA LLB through NLU
- Medical/BDS or equivalent
Financial aid under the scheme is detailed as follows:
- Academic fees: Up to Rs. 30,000 per annum for general degrees and higher amounts for professional courses, going up to Rs. 3.00 lakh per annum in certain cases.
- Maintenance allowance: Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum, distributed in ten equal installments.
Registration and Document Verification
Online registration for the session 2024-25 under the SSS J&K and Ladakh scheme commenced on 18th June 2024. Students interested in the scholarship are required to visit the nearest Facilitation Center for registration and the nearest Facilitation-cum-Document Verification Center (FDVC) for document verification, starting from 21st June 2024 onwards. Lists of these centers and the calendar of events are available on the AICTE website.

Important Notice
Students who are already beneficiaries of any other scholarship scheme on board with the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), or who enroll in another scheme while being a beneficiary of the SSSJ&K and Ladakh scholarship, are not eligible for this scholarship.
